Enjoy a day surrounded by the splendour of Canada’s largest botanical garden featuring 1,100 hectares (2,700 acres) of beautiful cultivated garden areas and spectacular natural sanctuaries.
You’ll start your day with a transfer from Toronto to the Royal Botanical Gardens for a day of pure splendour. Once you arrive, you’ll board an authentic trolley bus that will tour you around the grounds. Depending on the season, you’ll experience the brilliant colours and fragrances of a variety of different garden settings including the world’s largest lilac collection, 100,000 spring bulbs, 250,000 irises, 3,000 exotic rose bushes and a 2 storey indoor Mediterranean Garden area.
After you have explored the sights of the Gardens, continue your tour with an entrance into Dundurn Castle, the former home of Sir Allan MacNab, one of Canada’s pre-eminent historical figures. Explore this 19th-century palatial mansion and discover the lives of an upper class Canadian family and their servants. While on site you can also visit the Hamilton Military Museum, choose to have lunch in one of four on-site restaurants or relax in the Rock or Rose Gardens for an afternoon tea prior to boarding for your return trip to Toronto.
